Rough Magic’s hugely successful production of Arthur Riordan and Bell Helicopter’s musical comedy, Improbable Frequency, will tour to the KONTAKT International Theatre Festival in Torun, Poland for two performances on June 2nd and 3rd 2006. The show will play at the Wilama Horzycy Theatre, the festival’s base and premier venue.
The show will then transfer to the Traverse Theatre as part of the 2006 Edinburgh Festival. Improbable Frequency will perview in Edinburgh on August 4th and 5th with performances from August 6th - 27th.
KONTAKT is one of the leading festivals in Eastern Europe and seldom programmes English language work.
Rough Magic are regular visitors to the Traverse Theatre during festival time. The company's most recent visits include Take Me Away in 2004 and Midden in 2001, both of which won Fringe First Awards.
Improbable Frequency was first performed at the O’Reilly Theatre as part of the 2004 Dublin Theatre Festival. The show subsequently transferred to the main stage of the Abbey Theatre for a six week run in Spring 2005. The production was nominated for five Irish Times/ESB Irish Theatre Awards and won three: Best Director, Best Production and Best Costume Design.
